Claire is a freelance botanical artist, originally from South Africa but now based in West Wales. She has always been passionate about nature,plants and drawing.
She has an education in botany,horticulture and field biology and is a self-taught watercolour artist.
Working in watercolour from 'live' subjects , detail and botanical accuracy are important features of her work.
"Observational drawing and macro photography are ways to slow down and take a closer look at the natural world."
She was awarded a distinction in the Society of Botanical Artists' Diploma in 2007 and then in 2009 was elected to associate membership with the SBA.
Exhibited in April 09 at the Society's Open Exhibition at Westminster Central Hall in London and sold 3 paintings.
In 2010 she was proud to be elected to full membership of the SBA and is exhibiting at the Open exhibiton at Westminster.
